So... This is a very special place for all of you who want to say something in English!!! Anything, everything, but interesting and, if you can, correct! You may start with answering this question: did you ever have to use English in real life? Or, if you just want to practice your language, write anything...

Bored, Whitefire? 
Did I ever had to use English in real life? Almost all the time. Browsing internet, contacting people from other countries, contacting my own teachers (since some of them doesn't speak Polish) and even accidentally, in the street. For example I met today my co-worker. She's from GB - we had a little chit-chat in a bookstore. |

Well, I love Poznań too, but I'm rather cosmopolitan - born in Toruń, living in Poznań, feeling like home in Wrocław and Warsaw (many friends in those cities). And my friends from Warsaw are constantly telling me to move there.
By the way - what did you study? (or maybe I shouldn't ask - we'll monopolise another topic ) |

As to Warsaw, I hear it is be expensive to live there...

Just what I supposed . Are you an English teacher now?
About Warsaw - I heard that too. It's less expensive to live in suburbs.
My studies... Well, all the information is available on my website (which you visited not so long ago ), but I guess only "elementary education with English" tells you anything and "ethnolinguistics" is as enigmatic as "quantum physics" (or even more). To get it short - I study English and Japanese (but there were other languages to choose - such as Arabic, Farsi, Chinese, Swahili and others, depends on the year). Trying to get Master's degree but I'm getting tired of studies - ethnolinguistics is my second study area which makes 8 years of studying at the moment. Two or three left and I'm working at the same time.
And to give other people oportunity to write anything - anyone studying anything interesting? |

Well, so it happens Just several hours, though. It's mostly useful because of ZUS insurance and tax reliefs. I earn my beacon largely with translations and interpreting.
I won't be surprised, if you'll find Japanese more useful in life than English And I admire your commitment to educating yourself. I know how it is to find time for both studying and work.
Anyway, yes, we've dominated the subject... anybody else, please?

In real life? Hm... If Internet is rl, i reckon that almost everyone on this forum had to use English in rl. But if not... I had to use English just once. I was coming back from school and I met sb from England. He was asking about one school in my city. I was surprised how easy it was to talk to him.
Unfortubately I have never been to UK so I rather don't use English in rl... except school of course=) |
